Monthly events are offered, from October through May, at varying hours: morning, followed by lunch; afternoon, followed by tea; or evening, with a light buffet. Most events are in French, although one or two may be in English. Intended to broaden acquaintance with French culture, we offer a variety of subjects, including art, music, literature, history, travel in France, for example. Admission is free to members, and non- members are welcome to attend any two of these events per year, for an admission charge of $10.00 per event.
French speakers are invited to join Alliance members at purely social monthly luncheons, where all conversation is in French. These "no host" luncheons (with participants ordering and paying for their own meals) are held at various restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley and on varying days of the week. For activities refer to the newsletter.

WITH HUNDREDS OF SPONTANEOUS PERFORMERS
Los Angeles Debut of an International Music Celebration
Fête de la Musique, June 21, 2008
Los Angeles, Calif. (March 2008) Los Angeles will make music history with the first-ever Make Music Pasadena, a Fête de la Musique event, taking place on World Music Day and the summer solstice, Saturday, June 21, 2008, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Held in more than 300 cities in over 100 countries, Fête de la Musique is the largest musical celebration in the world, and Pasadena, one of the top cultural and civic destinations in the Los Angeles area, is bringing this international phenomenon to the West Coast for the very first time.
During this unique event, everyone is invited to make music throughout the city on the longest day of the year. Make Music Pasadena will feature internationally known headliners performing to thousands at four main stages, and hundreds of amateur musicians who will bring their musical talents to the streets. From world music to indie rock, pop, Latin, classical, jazz and every conceivable musical genre, Make Music Pasadena will showcase an incredible range of sounds and styles celebrating the diversity that is Southern California on sidewalks, in parks, courtyards, alleys, building lobbies and other unconventional performance spaces primarily in The Playhouse District and in Old Pasadena.
Fête de la Musique began in France in 1982, and originated as a way to promote music of all kinds while encouraging the public to find its own artistic talents. Fête de la Musique aims at a large audience to popularize musical practice for all ages and from all cultural and social backgrounds, and creates an opportunity to communicate and share a very special connection through music.
Make Music Pasadena is produced by the Old Pasadena Management District, One Colorado, Playhouse District Association, Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pasadena Arts Council, Alliance Française de Pasadena and French Cultural Services in Los Angeles.
